Tully River Rafting

Updated: 08-Jul-2008

The Mighty Tully River is located just 2 hours south of Cairns. It winds its way through spectacular World Heritage listed rainforest.

Whitewater rafting is a popular activity on the Tully River, with commercial rafting companies operating daily.

Raging Thunder Adventures one of the leading operators, pioneered rafting in 1984 with the first commercial trip consisting of three nervous passengers on the Tully River.

Today trips still depart daily for the Tully River, as it is regarded as the best river rafting across Australia and New Zealand.

Each raft holds a maximum of seven passengers and one river guide, who will guide you safely down your river adventure.

The river is rated a Grade 3-4, which means there are some exciting rapids! It really is a very memorable, fun day with the World Heritage rainforest providing an unforgettable backdrop.

This trip departs daily from Port Douglas, Cairns, Northern Beaches and Mission Beach.

It includes all accommodation transfers, 5 hours of white water rafting, guaranteed water levels, all tuition, safety equipment including life jacket, helmet and spray jacket, BBQ lunch, exclusive Raging Thunder Café.

With over 27 rapids on the river, this is the longest Tully River rafting trip available. No experience is necessary to raft these Grade 4 rapids.
