Operating Daily to the Low Isles

Just a reminder that Shaolin is fully operational, fully crewed and in full swing with many happy guests enjoying the Shaolin experience...with full time Skipper Pete and Hostie/Snorkel guide Katie with extra helpers where needed. Shaolin is looking better than ever operating daily to Low Isles, only subject to the usual weather conditions. Shaolin in her 26th year from Port Douglas, is the only traditional vessel with access to Low Isles daily, being 1 of only 4 permits. Her midday departure gives a great opportunity for a last minute decision to visit the Great Barrier Reef and enjoy a reef and island cruise with a difference. Small numbers, personal service, unique ambience, excellent snorkelling with turtles, glass bottom boat and quiet time on Low Isles before the sunset motor/ sail back to Port.

Shaolin is back!

Great news, after a refit and restoration Shaolin is now back operating daily to Low Isles from Good Friday! The sun is shining and our Easter weekend weather is looking ideal, so lets get our visitors out having a "great" barrier reef experience!

Shaolin, now only 47 years young!, feeling strong and looking fantastic. Shaolin offers a unique way of visiting our idyllic Low Isles with late departure, delicious lunch, island access, lagoon snorkelling with turtles, glass bottom boat and a maximum of only 23 adventurous guests.

Shaolin has been operating for 25 years from Port Douglas to Low Isles and is an iconic part of Port's varied attractions and is one of the last remaining sail rigged junks in the world.

Happy Easter from the Shaolin and Reef Adventure Centre team.

Kind regards

Steve & Katrina Edmondson

Shaolin on Channel 7

The feature on Shaolin and Port Douglas iwas broadcast on Saturday 3rd Nov, Channel 7 Queensland Weekender program at 5.30pm. Katrina and I have recently visited Hong Kong, the birth place of Shaolin in 1961 and observed they have not managed to preserve any original Chinese sailing junks that explored the world 600 years ago. This really surprised us and helped us appreciate even more the uniqueness of Shaolin operating daily to Low Isles. Visitors to our region have the opportunity to experience the magic of Shaolin with a reef and island cruise to our idyllic Low Isles with the only midday departure and sunset sail home to Port. We thank you for all the continued support of this iconic reef experience.
