Backyard Country Bliss Adventures offers a unique Sea Kayaking experience to Snapper Island. This special trip is limited to only a few people each year.
Lying off the mouth of the Daintree River in Tropical North Queensland, Snapper Island is one of only a few Islands in this area accessible from the mainland by sea kayaks. The journey begins soon after you are collected from your accommodation in Port Douglas, with a beautiful scenic drive past sugar cane fields, coastal beaches and the mighty Daintree River.
Cape Kimberley is the launching place. After a safety briefing and instruction session, a mildly challenging paddle awaits to take you to the island. The tour lands on one of many idyllic beaches for a tropical lunch.
After lunch you will spend the afternoon beach hopping to various deserted beaches around the Island, exploring coastline and aquatic wonderland, before some more relaxing on the beautiful white sun drenched beaches. Another paddle will take you right around the island and then heading back to the mainland. If there is ample trade wind, set sail, and coast home.
All the guides are qualified Outdoor Education Instructors to make your day as safe, special and as memorable as possible.
A tropical picnic lunch is provided with cold drinks and fruit platter for afternoon tea.
