Mountain biking at Cape Tribulation is a fun and active way to explore the tropical rainforest. All your senses are stimulated whilst you cycle through this unique area.
There are plenty of mountain streams to stop, cool off and refresh yourself. At low tide you will ride the hard packed beaches for added fun.
Dan is a very experienced rider, with local knowledge of the best trails in the region. He was the mountain bike course designer and leg co-ordinator for the Discovery Channel Eco-Challenge Race (Australia) in 1997.
This trip departs Cape Tribulation at 9.15am on Tuesdays and Fridays. The Cape Tribulation trails are a Grade 3 4WD dirt trail, with up to 30° hills.
Each participant must accept responsibility for their own safety and their property. Passengers will be asked to sign a liability release form before the trip.
Included:
- Lunch and strange cycle food on full day
- Fully guided, moral support and First Aid
- Training provided - offroad experience is not necessary
- 24 Speed Big Foot Norco mountain bikes. helmets and gloves
- Free water, Free air and Free mud facials on some trails
- All forestry and national park fees paid for
- Transfers to and from accommodation
½ fit for ½ day and average fitness for full day. Average is anybody who plays regular sport or exercises 3 times a week. Must be in good health and able to ride a bike!
Minimum age is 12 years
All tours are operated in harmony with the natural environments. This tour uses recycling facilities wherever possible, and asks all participants to co-operate in preserving the integrity of the areas visited, whether historic or native wilderness.
