PICTURESQUE ROLLING HILLS OF THE HINTERLAND SPECTACULAR RAINFOREST AND LOGGING TRACKS TRAIL RIDE THROUGH THE AUSTRALIA BUSH SAVANNAH

Black Mountain Hideaway at Julatten is a 200-acre horse and cattle farm set amongst the rolling hills of the hinterland of Port Douglas. The picturesque farm is located just 35 minutes drive from Port Douglas.

Black Mountain Hideaway offers a wide range of adventurous and exiting trail rides through the Australian Bush Savannah, exploring the spectacular rainforest and enjoying views from high mountaintops and the 500m Mowbray Falls.

From short, historical, interpretive and low-impact tours to full days of action, every tour begins with a brief of horsemanship, which includes safety guidelines and instruction.

Suzie’s knowledge of the individual horses is extensive, which means she will be able to match horse and rider. All horses have been trained by herself especially for the trail & teaching centre, and cater for all levels of riding.

2 Hour Trail:
This is an adventure on the historical Bump Track through spectacular rainforest and ancient logging tracks. View the Mowbray Valley River and the Big Mowbray Falls from a cool 550m above to the sea below. A great experience for both beginners and more advanced riders.

4 Hour Trail:
You will enjoy the ride on the national trail to water Lilly Lagoons, ride the stock route through the Australian Bush Savannah and enjoy the view of the Great Barrier Reef from high mountain tops. A trail you will never forget!

Transfers from Port Douglas are an additional cost.
