Accommodation:

The Port Family Package includes accommodation in a superbly appointed Deluxe Garden Room. These rooms are generous in scale with a sitting area and are 41 square metres with magnificent marble bathroom with bath and shower. Families can opt for 2 x double beds. It is possible to upgrade to a Deluxe Lagoon Room (additional cost) located on the second and third floor.

The maximum number of guests per room is 3 adults OR 2 adults and 2 children. It is possible to put one rollaway bed in these rooms at an additional cost.

Meet Giggles at the Sheraton Mirage Kidz Club:

The energizing Sheraton Mirage Kids Club offers a variety of fun-filled activities ranging from crazy arts and crafts to extraordinary treasure hunts, allowing the kids to use their energy and get creative.

Kids Club runs throughout all Australian School Holidays for children aged 4 to 12 years.

Wavedancer Low Isles Cruise

Travelling with children to the reef is a rewarding experience.

Low Isles is an idyllic, unspoilt coral island that appeals to everyone. The wide, sandy beach and clear, calm lagoon waters are ideal for swimming, snorkelling and families.

Visitors are limited to protect the reef’s ecology, so you’ll experience this island heaven with a select few. Quicksilver's Wavedancer offers the excitement of big ship sailing combined with the ultimate in comfort.

Itinerary:

9.30 am
Complimentary morning tea/coffee on boarding.

9.45 am
An informative Marine Biologist presentation is shown in the main cabin.

10.00 am
Wavedancer departs Marina Mirage for Low Isles.

10.30 am
A snorkelling demonstration is conducted during the journey to Low Isles.

11.15 am
Wavedancer arrives at Low Isles and your activities commence. The coral viewer and shuttle vessels leave for the island, and continue to run throughout the day. The guided snorkelling tour operates from the island.

12 noon
Lunch is served aboard Wavedancer. Enjoy your tropical buffet. Bar operates throughout the day.

1.30 pm
A guided beach and heritage trail walk is conducted by a Marine Biologist. This walk departs from the shuttle boarding area on the beach.

2.45 pm
Last shuttle leaves the island to return passengers to the vessel. Afternoon tea is served.

3.10 pm
Depart Low Isles for Port Douglas. Enjoy light entertainment during the return journey.

4.30 pm
Arrival at Marina Mirage, Port Douglas.

Education:
Travelling to this part of the Great Barrier Reef is a wonderful educational opportunity for children. Qualified Marine Biologists will happily answer any questions you or your children may have about this precious marine ecosystem. There is also a collection of illustrated reference books for your enjoyment.

Snorkelling
To assist children to obtain the best experience from their day at Low Isles, snorkels, masks and fins are available in child sizes.

Tip: If your child has their own swimming goggles at home, bring them along. We find most kids are more comfortable with goggles rather than a face mask, and love just 'flopping' around in the water with goggles and no snorkel.

Swimming Aids
There are various flotation aids available for your child’s use. These range from kick boards to full flotation vests depending on your child’s swimming abilities.

Coral Viewing
Coral viewing is so easy with a glass bottom boat tour. The coral viewing boat leaves the island regularly and cruises over the delicate soft coral gardens that surround Low Isles. An informative commentary will be conducted to point out the corals, the many brightly coloured tropical fish and magnificent giant clams to the passengers. Perhaps this is your chance to meet a turtle!
